Our Story
We started FlowFocus in a coffee shop.
That part isn't metaphor.
Not “we had a vision” kind of started. More like: it was 11pm, someone had a deadline, and every productivity app open on their laptop was somehow making things worse. Too many features. Too many pings. Too clinical.
The irony of using productivity software that keeps you from being productive isn't lost on us.
So we stripped it back. A Pomodoro timer — 25 minutes on, 5 off, technique from the 1980s — but wrapped in something that actually felt good to sit inside. Lo-fi sounds. Rain on glass. A room with a few hundred strangers all quietly doing their own thing at the same time.
Turns out that last part mattered more than we expected. You don't need to talk to people to feel less alone while working. You just need to know they're there.
FlowFocus isn't trying to be your task manager, your calendar, or your life coach. It's just the place you go when you actually need to focus — whether that's studying for an exam, finishing a project, or finally getting that one thing off your list that's been sitting there since Tuesday.
Built for
Students, freelancers, and deep workers
Whether you're a CS student grinding through problem sets, a designer working on client deliverables, or a researcher writing your thesis — FlowFocus adapts to how you work.
Our Pomodoro timer, ambient sounds, and virtual study rooms create the perfect environment for sustained focus. No more context-switching between 5 different apps.

Our Mission
Make deep work accessible to everyone
Honestly, FlowFocus started because we were bad at focus. Not poetically bad — just the regular kind. Fifteen tabs open, three different task apps running, a Spotify playlist that was supposed to help but mostly didn't.
In 2024, we decided to stop looking for the right tool and just build one. We'd been using a basic Pomodoro timer for months — the kind with zero UI, zero personality. It worked, but it felt sterile. So we layered in lo-fi atmospheres, backed it with virtual rooms where strangers were quietly grinding alongside us, and suddenly focusing felt less like fighting yourself.
Today, over 20,000 people use FlowFocus every day — students, freelancers, remote workers who just need somewhere to land and actually get things done. We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. The core timer, the rooms, the sounds — they stay free. Some premium stuff is coming for teams and power users, but it'll only add. Never cut.
Principles
Our values
Focus over features
Every feature must protect your concentration, not steal it. If it creates clutter, it doesn't ship.
Aesthetics matter
A beautiful workspace inspires better work. We obsess over design because your environment shapes your output.
Together is better
Real-time study rooms and coworking spaces connect people without the noise of social media.
Free core, forever
Essential Pomodoro and focus tools stay free. Premium features add power — they never remove access.
Privacy by default
Your data stays in your browser. No tracking, no ads, no dark patterns. Period.
Zero friction
